Dan Richards, the embattled California Fish and Game Commission president under fire from animal rights groups and state Democratic Assembly members for traveling to Idaho for a legal non-resident mountain lion hunt last month says he has no plans to step down. "I'm not apologizing about anything because I didn’t do anything illegal," Richards said. "I didn't share it with the world. The (HSUS) shared it with the world. There is zero resign in me." UT San Diego.
Apparently he didn't declare the value of the hunt which was gifted to him. He therefore violated the disclosure requirements of the Political reform Act of California which requires state officials to disclose valuable gifts. So, in fact, he DID do something illegal.
