USDA kills plan for national livestock tracking system

Images After months of pressure from ranchers and livestock interests, US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Friday the USDA will halt its push for a national animal identification system, which would have tracked animals from birth to the butcher. The Billings Gazette.
