The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks has determined that the shooting of a cougar by a 14-year-old elk hunter last week was justified. Eric Boyd was waiting for his father to drive an elk to him when the cougar approached to within 25 yards before he shot the animal 4 times. The Billings Gazette.
