An Oregon man who was helping friends track a bear that had been shot on the final day of the spring season survived a harrowing run-in with the injured bruin, emptying his .45 cal. pistol into the animal before another member of the hunting party came to his rescue, finishing the job with two shots from his .44. Aaron Wyckoff said he fired a round into the bear's forehead, but the animal kept coming and climbed on top of him. He got off three more shots until his ammo ran out when he accidentally released the clip. The AP reports.
