An unprecedented spring deer hunting season to help contain an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis in northwestern Minnesota will be unnecessary, as efforts to cull deer by helicopter sharpshooters and landowners has proven successful, DNR officials said. Chris Niskanen in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
