Five fined $28K in Tennessee elk-poaching case

In the sentencing of five individuals pleading guilty in a December elk-poaching case, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports a precedent in penalties for illegally taking an elk. Among the five parties combined, $28,000 in fines, court costs and restitution were issued, 18 years of hunting privileges were suspended, and they received 14 years of suspended jail time with court-supervised probation.
