Target shooters cop plea deal in Utah forest fire case

Two men charged with starting a Utah fire that charred 5,500 acres and cost $2.1 million to extinguish pleaded no contest to reduced charges and will each pay $5,000 in restitution. According to court documents, Idaho resident Kenneth Nielsen, 37, and Jeffrey Conant, 42, of Washington state, were target shooting near Saratoga Springs on June 21 when an explosive target ignited dry weeds and spread, burning the mountainside.
