Sheriff proclaims his roadkill-pickup program a success

BildeThe Michigan county sheriff who instituted a program sentencing some non-violent offenders to roadkill-pickup duty instead of incareerating them says it saved taxpayers about $1,600 since April 2012. Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth said on the 29 Saturdays that offenders worked last year, approximately 382 animal carcasses were removed from county roadways.
