Montana houndman loses lion dogs to wolves

Drew Zeller of Stevensville, Mont. set his three hounds loose on a fresh mountain lion track last Sunday, as he often does this time of year. Soon, his GPS tracker indicated the dogs weren't moving, which usually indicates they've treed a cat. But that wasn't the case. "We never saw the wolves," he said. "In the five or 10 minutes it took us to walk there, the wolves had come down and killed all three dogs. It was a quick deal." Ravalli Republic.
