Measure would increase penalties for Mich. trophy poachers

Following the lead of other states with similar laws, a bill passing the Michigan state Senate with a unanimous vote Thursday would increase the fines and restitution for illegally killing trophy deer. "We want to make sure to protect our wild resources so all hunters can enjoy what Pure Michigan has to offer for generations to come," said bill sponsor Sen.
