High Black Friday call volume interrupts NICS in Maine

In what was predicted to be the single highest-volume sales day on record for firearms in the U.S. some Maine dealers using the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System experienced intermittent outages on the day after Thanksgiving. "If we can’t call it in, we can’t sell a gun," said Rick Lozier, a manager at Van Raymond Outfitters in Brewer.
