Girl, 7, is youngest to bag Maryland black bear

The Baltimore Sun reports that nearly seven decades separated the youngest and oldest hunters who killed black bears in this year's Maryland hunt, which took place last week. A record number of bears - 92 - were killed during the five-day hunt, according to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Aurora Wilhelm, 7, became the youngest hunter to take a bear since the hunt was reinstated in 2004--a 232-pound male.
