A federal judge Thursday ordered the District of Columbia to pay $1.1 million in legal fees to the lawyers in the historic Heller vs. DC court case, about a third of the amount that had been requested. Dick A. Heller’s successful lawsuit against the city led to the landmark decision in 2008 by the U.S. Supreme Court that the Second Amendent applies to an individual's right to own firearms.
