A constitutional amendment creating a state Livestock Care Standards Board was overwhelmingly approved by Ohio voters Tuesday by a margin of 64 percent to 36 percent. Ag interests drafted the amendment after it became apparent the Humane Soceity of the United States planned to push regulations to ban the use of poultry cages, veal crates and gestation stalls in the Buckeye State.
