Authorities at the National Zoo in Washington DC euthanized a deer after it leapt into the facility's lion enclosure and was repeatedly swatted and clutched by the two female cats as witnesses watched the 20-minute ordeal. "Everyone was rooting for the deer," said one witness. The Washington Post.
