A study appearing in the July issue of Journal of Wildlife Management indicates that (surprise!) coyotes pose a considerable threat to domestic cats allowed to stay outside homes. Eight radio-collared coyotes tracked for 4 months in Tucson, AZ were involved in 36 "interactions" with pet cats and killed 19 roaming kitties. Hat tip to John McCoy's blog.
