Roaming black bear photographed in N. Illinois

Bureau_bear_webThe skeptics who have discounted reports of a black bear in Bureau County, Illinois have been silenced since Cheryl Balensiefen shot a series of high-quality photos while with her husband, Kent, a farmer and Macon Township road commissioner. Chicago Sun-Times outdoor writer Dale Bowman has the story, and the Peoria Journal-Star's Jeff Lampe has the photos.
