While the photograph is not nearly as dramatic as the one we originally posted with the TV-news version of this story, the denning black bear that Neil Schlough of Boyceville, Wisc. struck and killed with his combine was one big bruin. Field-dressed at 618 pounds, it's estimated that the live weight exceeded 700 pounds. The complete story appears in the Dunn County News.
