Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks authorities have determined that elk hunter Shawn Damschen was justified in his shooting of a charging grizzly sow at a distance of about 10 feet north of Yellowstone National Park on Monday. A warden summoned by the hunter returned to the scene of the incident and dispatched the wounded bear. It marked the second grizzly/hunter encounter in Montana in one week. In the Daily Inter Lake.
