A black Labrador retriever is credited with alerting his Potomac, MD owners to a house fire, allowing them to escape before the home's smoke alarms were triggered. Jet's barking shaved minutes off the response time for firefighters, helping them to isolate the blaze and save most of the home. "That dog did everything right," said Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery Fire and Rescue Service. In The Washington Post.
