Ventura, Calif. resident Stephen Schafer says he looked outside at about 3 a.m. Monday and thought "there is a really big poodle in my backyard." He then realized, "Hey, that's not a poodle." Department of Fish and Game officers say the bear cub wandered into a backyard hot tub, hopped a fence and headed into the backcountry north of the city. In The Ventura County Star.
