Three individuals purportedly affiliated with the radical environmental groups Earth Liberation Front and Earth First were indicted in federal court yesterday on charges relating to a 2000 attack on a Forest Service research facility in Rhinelander, Wisc. The three are charged with destroying 500 trees involved in a genetic experiment and defacing a Forest Service building, causing $500,000 in damage. If convicted, each faces up to 15 years in prison.
