It's prime time for salmon fishing--and grizzly encounters--on Alaska's Russian River. Authorities have issued warnings to 100 anglers in the last 9 days who have left unattended stringers of fish or other attractants. "It could have been 1,000 if we had the staff," said a Russian River interagency coordinator for the U.S. Forest Service. "Anglers who bring bear attractants like fish, food, beer, soda, and even sunscreen must keep their possessions within 3 feet," or face fines up to $175. In The Anchorage Daily News.
