When Pasco County (Fla.) Deputy Fredric Vetter discovered that a FWC trapper wasn't available to come after a 7-foot, 8-inch alligator wandering around a subdivision cul de sac early this morning, he took matters into his own hands. While his two deputies used a poker stick to lasso the gator and held it, Vetter jumped on its back, worked his way up to the head, pulled it back, flipped it over and taped its mouth. Then he secured the gator's legs before the three tossed it in the back seat of Vetter's patrol car. "I've had a lot worse people in my back seat than the alligator," Vetter said.
