Preliminary findings of a study released Tuesday indicate that Wisconsin is home to twice the number of black bears than original estimates indicated. The new research, which could lead to increased hunting, suggests as many as 26,000 bears roam the state, double the earlier DNR model population of 13,000. AP reports.
