Los Angeles County lifeguards were called to perform an unusual rescue after a deer ran out of the Santa Monica Mountains and across Pacific Coast Highway, where it leapt into the ocean. The animal was 300 yards out when lifeguards arrived, and it was injured when it tried to come ashore in a rocky area. It was later euthanized at an animal services facility. KTLA reports.
