A district court judge in Grants, New Mexico ruled Friday that big game park owner and former high-profile guide Kirt Darner is competent to stand trial for a variety of wildlife-related offenses stemming from a 2005 grand jury indictment. On January 7, the day his trial was scheduled to begin, Darner was ruled incompetent to stand trial because of medications he was taking for kidney stones. Reported in the Gallup Independent.
